James Gallagher's opponent announced for Bellator Dublin's co-main event

Bellator 169 has finally got a co-main event and it comes in the form of undefeated SBG Bantamweight James Gallagher.

The "Strabanimal", 4-0 in his pro career so far, will face 1-1 Californian prospect Anthony Taylor on December 16th at the 3Arena.

Gallagher, who won a unanimous decision over Mike Cutting in his Bellator debut, will serve as a draw for the local crowd, and has previously called himself the event's main attraction despite fan favourite Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal headlining with former Olympic Judo gold medalist Satoshi Ishii.

"I’m completely prepared to walk out in the 3 Arena in front of 9,500 screaming fans.

“People can say whatever they want about ‘King Mo’, but I’m not front and centre in the poster for nothing. This is my show. I’m the main event.

“Walk outside the 3 Arena in a few weeks time when there are thousands of people queuing up for this show. Ask them who they are here to see, how many of them are going to say ‘King Mo’ and how many going to say ‘James Gallagher’?

“I’m an MMA fighter and I don’t even know how to say his opponent’s name”.

The card, which is Bellator's debut in the country, is a co-promotion with BAMMA and will feature a host of Irish fighters including top prospects Dylan Tuke(3-0) and Alan Philpott(16-8), as well as former UFC star Paul Redmond(11-6).
