Mayo were pushed right to the brink by Cork in the All Ireland qualifiers on Saturday.
In the end, Stephen Rochford's side prevailed by a 0-27 to 2-20 after extra time in an exhilarating clash.
There is little time for Mayo to catch their breathe though as Connacht champions Roscommon await in the All Ireland quarter finals this Sunday, July 30th.
It all comes at a time when their question marks over Mayo and the short turnaround adds even more doubts.
But it's a claim that former Mayo manager James Horan doesn't buy into as he told Off The Ball as he and ex-Donegal footballer Brendan Devenney analysed the weekend's action.
"What I'd say about these guys is their average age is still very good. They're in their prime as a team," he said.
"Their conditioning over the last six or seven years has been, with strength and conditioning coaches, of the highest calibre.
"So these guys have bought into that and their recovery, their day to day, they do everything as the top teams do. So I don't buy in as much as other people to the 'stale' and 'downtrodden' and 'beat'... these guys know their bodies inside out.

"They're monitored daily, so if they're feeling tired or whatever it is through various apps, that they don't train. They're optimised as regards the training that they do, the amount of yards that they cover with GPS. It's brought to a really scientific level. Mayo are in very good condition. They are never over-trained. So they're ready for battle."
However, Horan did concede that having a week of turnaround after such a taxing encounter against Cork will still be tough.
He said: "But having said that, through extra time and a seven day turnaround, that might come down in the next game with a couple of minutes to go, the legs might feel that bit heavy. So of course, it's going to be an issue," he said.
