Jamie Heaslip has been awarded the award for Try of the Year for that beautiful score against Italy in the Six Nations earlier this year.

Heaslip's try during Ireland's comprehensive victory over Italy was the end product of a move which started from inside Ireland's own 22 and featured some fluid off-loading and exemplary support play.

The score got the nod for the award ahead of Japan's Kaito Shigeno and TJ Perenara of New Zealand.

It's been a progressive week for Irish rugby. An historic win against the All Blacks in Chicago last week was complimented by another victory over Canada at the weekend. And a World Cup qualifier win for Martin O'Neill's side against Austria has sent Ireland to the summit of Group D going into 2017.
