Jason Day leads the way at RBC Heritage

Jason Day begins the weekend at the RBC Heritage tied at the summit, as he looks to put his stuttering performance at the Masters behind him.

The Australian shot a 69 yesterday to join Americans Kevin Chappell and Charley Hoffman on six-under-par heading into the third round.

Day failed to mount a serious or sustained challenge at Augusta last weekend, but enters the weekend looking to regain some momentum he had prior to the Masters.

“You can't chill out here at all,” Day told the PGA Tour's official website. “Last week I felt like I had gone 10 rounds of a championship fight.”

Luke Donald slipped further back after holding the lead heading into the weekend, his five under par opening round was followed by a level par 71.

American Bryson DeChambeau, in his first tournament as a professional, is three under par after a 69.

Graeme McDowell finished on five over par and missed the cut.
