Jeff Fisher wants to get a shot at coaching against the Los Angeles Rams

Despite begin given a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Rams just a few short weeks ago, Jeff Fisher now finds himself without a job in the National Football League.

The head coach, whose last season of .500 or above came back in 2009, parted ways with the franchise on Monday in a decision that was "solely based on performance," according to Rams' executive vice president of football operations Kevin Demoff.

Despite being currently without a team, Fisher is refusing to give up on his chances of getting another job in the NFL, and hopes that he gets an opportunity to coach against his former side to show them exactly what he's capable of.

In a teaser for an interview that will be aired on Fox's pre-game show, Fisher revealed that the reason he felt he was fired by the franchise was a fairly simple one.

"[I] didn't win enough games, the organisation has a much bigger picture, and I don't think I was ever part of seeing the new stadium," he explained.

When asked what his perfect scenario was as he headed into the next phase of his career, Fisher was very clear: "I want a chance to play the Rams."

That chance may well come if an owner decides that they want to make changes, and with Black Monday on the horizon in a few weeks, there are likely to be some vacancies for Fisher to put his name forward for another shot.
