Jimmy Walker leads the way in Hawaii

He's two shots clear of the chasing pack at the Tournament of Champions

Jimmy Walker leads the way at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii after a flawless first round on Thursday.

The 2016 PGA Championship winner signed for an eight-under round of 65 after shooting six birdies and one eagle to lead the field by two shots.

Jim Herman, Ryan Moore and  Justin Thomas lead the chasing pack on six-under. 

Elsewhere, other notable scores sees 2016 US Open champion Dustin Johnson tied with Hideki Matsuyama on four-under.

World number one Jason Day is on three-under as he begins his comeback from an injury plagued end to his 2016 season.

The Australian endured a mixed round shooting three bogeys and six birdies as he signed for a total of 70.
