Joey Barton was left red faced last night after an embarrassing snub at Burnley's Championship trophy presentation meant that he was without a winners medal.
The 33-year-old picked up Burnley's Player of the Year gong at the club's end of year awards last night and had been one of the leading players in the squads march to the Premier League this year. However the former QPR, Newcastle and Manchester City player was left to celebrate sans medal at the club's presentation in front of assembled media and fans.

Both Barton and James Tarkowski were left without medals for the ceremony due to an administrative error meant there were only 25 medals for 27 players.
Competely distraught over that mix-up with the medals. Completely my fault. @football_league absolutely not to blame.

Barton was given a blow-up trophy from the crowd to lift but looked visibly unimpressed during the presentation.
No medal? What's going on? 😃
