John Giles believes Manchester City are on course to win absolutely nothing this season if they continue on their current trajectory.

Wealthy and with a star-studded squad, Manuel Pellegrini's side are third in the Premier League - just three points off the top - but were beaten by Everton in last night's Capital One Cup semi-final first leg.

"The way they played last night, they're not going to win anything," said John on Off The Ball.

"I thought they were terrible. Terrible at the back, [Kevin] De Bruyne has not kicked a ball for them, Yaya [Toure] is strolling around the pitch. They need a good kick up the backside and Everton well deserved to beat them and if they keep playing like they're doing, they'll win nothing."
