Jon Walters will captain the Republic of Ireland this evening, as Martin O'Neill's side looks to atone for their dismal defeat to Mexico.

Eight changes have been made from that game on Thursday, with Burnley's Kevin Long making his first senior international start at the Aviva.

Just three players from the Mexico game have retained their places for this evening's friendly, with Darren Randolph, Shane Duffy and Cyrus Christie named to start again.

Ireland will be particularly keen to get a win against Uruguay, as they continue their preparations for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Austria.
