Jordan Spieth wins for the first time since Masters defeat

Jordan Spieth returned to the winner's enclosure on Sunday night, with a three-shot victory at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational in Texas.

The World number two, won on the PGA Tour for the second time this year. It was his first win, since finishing tied-second in the Masters in April after holding the lead heading into the back-nine. He finished on -17, with Harris English coming in second on -14.

After parring his first nine holes, Spieth had six birdies on the back nine, including a chip-in from off the green on the 17th.

The win, is Spieth's eighth of his career, and he has still to reach his 23rd birthday. Not even Tiger Woods had eight victories on Tour  at that stage in his career.

The win is the first of Spieth's career in his home state of Texas. He also increases his record to six wins from 11 starts when leading a tournament going into the final round.

It means that golf fans can look forward to next week's Memorial Tournament in Ohio. Jason Day and Rory McIlroy will also be competing in the event, having both won their previous tournaments in the past fortnight.
