Jose Aldo has "no desire to fight again" as he looks to leave the UFC

Jose Aldo will be pressing for a termination of his UFC contract when he sits down with the promotion.

The Brazilian was not able to get a re-match with Conor McGregor who beat him in 13 seconds to claim the UFC featherweight title in December 2015.

Aldo has already stated his intention to have his contract terminated but reiterated that stance when speaking to the media in Rio De Janeiro.

"I have no desire to fight again. I don’t have any excitement to fight anymore. I have other projects in my life. I wanted to retire as champion and I’m the champion today. I want to follow another path," he said according to MMA Fighting.

He also added that UFC president Dana White "can offer me anything" but he would still make the same decision.

Aldo is set to fly to the US next week to speak to UFC bosses to discuss the possibility of stepping away from the promotion.

He also said that he won't join another promotion if his time with the UFC comes to an end.

"It’s not like I want to retire, I’m too young and still have a lot left, but I have no desire to fight. And I have no interest in going to another organization. I won’t leave the biggest league to fight in a small one. I’m a big team and I want to be at the biggest league. If I’m not in the UFC, I’m not fighting anywhere else," he said.
