Jose Mourinho charged by the FA for the second time in a week

For the second time in a week, Jose Mourinho has been charged by the English FA following his behaviour towards referees.

The Portuguese boss was sent to the stands during Manchester United's goalless draw with Burnley, and was cited by Mark Clattenburg in the post-match referee's report.

Mourinho is accused of using insults towards Clattenburg after his side were not awarded a penalty during the first half of the game.

The 53-year-old emerged for the second half, but was escorted to a seat in the stands. He was then moved for a second time, this time to the directors' box where he sat alone for the remainder of the match.

"Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct following Manchester United’s game against Burnley on Saturday [29 October 2016]," the FA said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

"It is alleged that in or around the tunnel area at half-time, he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a Match Official."

Mourinho was charged last Thursday for making comments about referee Anthony Taylor ahead of United's clash with Liverpool in the Premier League. Managers have been banned from talking about referees ahead of games for fear of influencing decisions.

He has until 6pm on 4 November 2016 to respond to the charge.
