Jose Mourinho statement insists there will be "no sabbatical"

The former Chelsea boss has moved quickly to position himself for future positions

Jose Mourinho has released a statement in which he outlines his future plans and clarifies his availability going forward.

The statement says, "He will not be taking a sabbatical, her isn't tired, he doesn't need it, he is very positive and is already looking forward."

Mourinho had been linked with the Manchester United job just hours after being sacked from his position at Chelsea and this statement seems to outline that Mourinho is ready, willing and able to step into a managerial role.

Many believed Mourinho might need a break given how his Chelsea side imploded and the intense nature of his managerial style. Perhaps Mourinho is aware that a job at Real Madrid, Manchester United or even Manchester City could be on the horizon and is positioning himself to be considered for any of these roles.

The statement also says, "he will not be attending any high profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future."

Mourinho was sacked on Thursday afternoon following nine defeats out of 16 games in the Premier League so far this season.
