Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool run a lot more than Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp made a name for himself at Borussia Dortmund as an energetic coach who implored his players to work harder than any other team in the world.

Since taking over at Liverpool, it is clear to see that he still pushed this message out to his players and expects hard-running from his side. Players like James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have all excelled in this atmosphere and one of Liverpool's better victories of recent times was a 4-1 victory over Manchester City recently. It was a game in which Liverpool ran their opponents ragged, pressed high and continuously won the ball back high up the field without giving City an inch.

OptaJoe tweeted a stat that not only proves what anyone who has seen Liverpool under Klopp has witnessed but it sheds light on just how much more energetic Liverpool are under the German coach.

Klopp has been critical of his side when they haven't performed to his high standards and admitted after their recent 2-0 defeat to Newcastle that they would have to work harder.

He said "We should play much more football, our pressing was not good,” Klopp said. “Nearly everything went wrong. The start, the middle, the end.”

His honesty has been refreshing for Liverpool fans and his comment on Alberto Moreno's (wrongly) disallowed goal amused everyone. He said, "Because we weren't good enough, the linesman thought ‘you don’t make world-class goals if you play this s***’ so (you don’t get the goal)."
