Justin Thomas earns back-to-back wins in Hawaii

Justin Thomas has had an unforgettable fortnight in Hawaii.

The 23-year-old has won his second tournament in a row, adding the Sony Open to the Tournament of Champions he won last week. Thomas' -27 score of 253 is the lowest 72-hole score in the history of the PGA Tour.

Thomas' second win of 2017 has seen the golfer reach the top-ten of the World Rankings for the first time in his career. He has moved up to eighth in the World, after starting the year outside the top-20.

The seven-stroke win came three days after he shot a 59, joining an elite club of players to shoot under 60 on the PGA Tour. The final round of 65 saw Thomas finished ahead of Olympic champion Justin Rose.

"It was a very fun week", Thomas said after the win. "I just can't get over how fast these two weeks went by and how much of a blur they almost are. I played some great golf. I'm really excited where my game is and how comfortable I'm feeling when I'm out there."

"This win meant a lot because of how I did it. The first wire-to-wire win. I mean, I had a hard time getting focused up there today. I was nervous today for the first time I've felt like that in a long time. To be able to handle that the way I did, I was very proud."

Waterford's Seamus Power finished in a tie for 49th place. He shot a level-par round of 70 to finish on -8. Since Power has joined the PGA Tour, he has made the halfway cut in five of his six tournaments.
