With a second victory under her belt, Katie Taylor will look ahead to the next steps on the ladder as she continues to impress in her professional career.
Speaking after her victory over Viviane Obenhauf, Taylor said that she had been disappointed in her performance, and that she felt that she had been in better form during her first bout just two weeks ago.
"I was a bit flat today, a very mediocre performance, but a win's a win and I got six good rounds of it so, I suppose I just have to take the positives from it," Taylor said. "I felt a bit tired in there tonight, but it was a quick turn over from the last fight as well."
"I would have liked to have put on a better performance," Taylor added, "but at the same time it's great to be boxing on such a big card, and what a privilege to be boxing in front of 21,000 people out there. To be doing something that I absolutely love on this platform, it's an absolute privilege.
"The main thing is that I won the fight; I'm still unbeaten and I'm on the right road."
With a huge crowd in attendance to see Taylor in action, as well as watch the other fights on the night between Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora as well as Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina, there was an incredible atmosphere in the Manchester Arena on Saturday. Although it was a big step up from the attendances at Olympic events, but Taylor said she was unfazed by it.
"These are the things I dreamed of when I was a 10 or 11-year-old, when I was starting boxing - to be boxing on this stage. it's a huge honour to be boxing on these cards. I'm just a bit disappointed with my own performance tonight, but at the same time, I ended the year on a high.
"These last two weeks have been some of the most exciting of my whole career, so it's incredible to end the year like this. Next year is going to be a huge year for me."
Targeting the huge eventl in Madison Square Garden where Michael Conlan will make his professional debut on St. Patrick's Day next year, Taylor said she hopes she can be included on the bill.
"I hope [the chance is] still there, but obviously I'd like to get out before then as well. I'll sit down with Brian [Peters] and Eddie [Hearne] and see what the plan is, but I'm happy to step back in the ring whenever."
