Katie-George Dunlevy and her pilot Eve McCrystal claimed silver in the tandem road race on Saturday afternoon in Rio.

They came home in a time of 1:59:01, starting well and forming part of a leading pair that were 20 seconds clear, before increasing that advantage to 40 seconds later on.

The duo also claimed gold earlier this week when they won the women's B Road Time Trial, on the same day Colin Lynch claimed a silver medal in the C2 Road Time Trial earlier this morning and Eoghan Clifford won gold in the Men's C3 Time Trial, highlighting just how successful a Games it has been for Irish cyclists.

However, there was bad luck for Damien Vereker and Sean Hahessy, who were eliminated from the men's tandem road race in the final third of the course, having established a lead of 1:45 over the rest of the pack.
