Kevin Doyle missed Ireland's friendly with Belarus to see the sights of Colorado

It looks like Kevin Doyle will be watching Euro 2016 from America later this month.

The Colorado Rapids striker was told earlier this week that he was placed on the stand-by list for the tournament. He will only travel to France if called upon after an injury to a striker.

Doyle spent the day with his team mates hiking through the Rocky Mountains, but he made it clear he would have far sooner been in Turner's Cross. The striker played for Cork City, before moving to Reading in 2005.

While Doyle will be watching the games from the comfort of his Denver home, at least he will have some company. Team mate Sean St. Ledger also featured for Ireland in Euro 2012, and as Doyle was quick to point out, the defender was Ireland's top scorer in the tournament.
