Kieran Richardson and Nigel Reo-Coker go on trial at Granada

Kieran Richardson and Nigel Reo-Coker have both gone on trial at Granada CF, just a day after former Portsmouth and Wycombe manager Tony Adams was appointed as the club's interim manager

The pair are both free agents and have been brought on board as Adams begins the club's fight against relegation from La Liga.

Granada are second from bottom in the Spanish top-flight and sit eight points from safety.

Richardson has been a free agent since being released by Cardiff City at the end of 2016 and has made more than 250 Premier League appearances. Having come through Manchester United's academy, the 32-year-old also lined out for Roy Keane's Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Reo-Coker, meanwhile, most famously lined out for West Ham in the mid-noughties, making 120 appearances for the club during a three-year period.

He then moved to Aston Villa where he spent four years with the Midlands club. The 32-year-old most recently played for Montreal Impact, but his stint there came to an end last year after he was released. He made 27 appearances for the MLS side.

"This is why I'm here," Adams said yesterday at a press conference announcing the news of his appointment.

"I'm going to kick some players' a***. I'm going to work them hard, I'm going to try the best that I can do with my 40 years of experience in football to try and get this good, to try and keep the ball out of one end and stick it in the other."
