Klopp refuses to be drawn on Koeman's Merseyside derby remarks

While Everton manager Ronald Koeman addressed his war of words with Ireland manager Martin O'Neill over James McCarthy's fitness, the Dutchman also spoke about a flashpoint against Liverpool after the game.

Koeman saw his side fall to a 3-1 defeat in the Merseyside derby and felt Liverpool's coaching staff were over-reacting to some of the challenges that occurred during the match.

"It’s all about football but we don’t make a show from the bench like Liverpool. It’s football – a hard and fair game," he said to Sky Sports TV.

"I don’t like coaches from the bench the whole time shouting to referees and linesmen, making a big show about tackles.

"They were crazy. They didn’t need the physio on the pitch. It’s a man’s sport."

Liverpool manager Klopp kept his counsel on the Koeman issue and refused to be drawn into any arguments, simply stating to Sky Sports: "Ronald Koeman spoke about me? Then, again, say about it what you want."

The German had also avoided speaking about a tackle from Everton's Ross Barkley on his centre back Dejan Lovren which resulted in a yellow card, saying he does not like to create stories.
