LeBron James hits record points total for Cleveland Cavaliers

Basketball legend Lebron James has become the first player to score 20,000 points for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He achieved the feat after scoring 25 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the weekend as the Cavaliers won by 107-91.

The win improved Cleveland's record to 32-14 and strengthens their grip on the number one spot in the Eastern Conference. The Boston Celtics are in second place with a record of 29-18.

"King" James is now in his 10th season in Cleveland - although it's his second spell there after spending four years with the Miami Heat where he won two championship titles.

The number one draft pick in 2003 led Cleveland to the championship title last year where they overcame the highly favoured Golden State Warriors 4-3 in the final.

He is currently eight on the all-time NBA scoring list with 27,938 career points behind Kobe Byrant and Michael Jordan amongst others.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar leads the list having scored 38,387 over a 20 year career which he spent between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas is second on the Cavalier's all-time scoring list with 10,616 points. Cleveland entertain the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
