Leigh Griffiths takes the positives from derby draw

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has taken the positives from Celtic's Old Firm draw at the weekend despite conceding a late equaliser to their arch-rivals.

The champions started slowly but gradually grew into the game and dominated the vast majority of the match after Stuart Armstrong gave them the lead in the 35th minute.

However a late Clint Hill strike earned Rangers a share of the points despite the home side having a late penalty claim turned away for a perceived foul by Hill on Leigh Griffiths.

Speaking to the club's official website, Celtic forward Griffiths said: “It’s a penalty. He never touched the ball, if he’s not touched the ball, he’s got to give a penalty or book me for diving. I’m going to put the ball in the back of the net. If you look back, he’s caught me at waist height. He never touched the ball.

“But we’re still unbeaten, and we’ll take the positives from the game. It’s another point gained and another point towards the title.

“We’re unbeaten, still on the hunt for the treble but we have to take each game as it comes,” he said. “We have another difficult game away to Dundee next week, and then we go into the international break. Hopefully we can get the three points at Dens and that sets us up nicely.

Celtic remain unbeaten in domestic competition this season and have a 25 point lead over second place Aberdeen. They will also play Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup later this year.
