Leinster's Ben Te'o may be fast tracked into the England set-up

Leinster centre Ben Te'o may be a shock inclusion in Eddie Jones' England squad for the summer tour of Australia later this year.

The 29-year-old joined Leinster at the start of the 2014 season as a replacement for the retired Brian O'Driscoll. Te'o broke his arm on his debut and that match set the tone for a frustrating period in Dublin.

Last December, Te'o announced he is to leave the province and join the Worcester Warriors. The Auckland-born star has been a regular feature in the Leinster side this year, making 21 appearances and scoring one try.

According to the Daily Mail, Te'o has contacted Jones about his willingness to play for England. An English-born mother means the rugby league convert qualifies to play for the Six Nations champions without the need wait for residency requirements to be passed.

If selected, Te'o would be the most recent in a long line of rugby league converts to switch codes and play for England. Sam Burgess, who has since returned to rugby league and the South Sydney Rabbitohs was a team mate of Te'o in Australia.

If selected for the summer tour, Te'o could make his England debut against Australia on June 11th in Brisbane.
