Lifestyle Sports' revenues and profits soar

Last year Lifestyle Sport's operations on both sides of the boarder drew in combined revenue of nearly €4.2m - with revenues of €103m.

In 2014 the group was restructured into two firms, one in the Republic of Ireland, which made a profit of €3.76m - while the second in Northern Ireland returned pre-tax profits of £348,954 (€417,180).

In the 26 counties it generated impressive earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of €8m.

Lifestyle incurred costs of €241,712 related to the restructuring.

The company operates 63 outlets. 2015's performance was bolstered by the opening of the company's new flagship store on Dublin's Grafton Street. The operation in the Republic had lease charges of €9.2m. The Irish sports retailer draws over 16 million shoppers per year.

Its 2015 filling shows that the number of people employed by the company in the Republic of Ireland increased from 419 to 459, with staff costs coming to €12.79m.

Ireland's qualification for Euro 2016 and the launch of new Republic of Ireland home and away soccer jerseys, as well as a new Irish rugby jersey and Dublin GAA kit are likely to ensure that 2016 is another lucrative year for the firm.
