Tottenham and Liverpool couldn't be separated at White Hart Lane as they played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Saturday's early Premier League kick off.

A James Milner penalty before half-time had Liverpool in front before Danny Rose levelled in the second half.

Philippe Coutinho had the first major chance as he forced a save from Michel Vorm.

But Jurgen Klopp's side did go in front on 43 minutes after Erik Lamela had clipped the heels of Roberto Firmino in the box.

Referee Robert Madley awarded a penalty which Milner converted.

Sadio Mane thought he had made it 2-0 with a side-footed volley but Adam Lallana was flagged for offside in the build-up.

Tottenham, who grew into the game, then found an equaliser with 19 minutes to go as Danny Rose controlled Eric Dier's cross to the far post and showed composure to slot past Simon Mignolet.
