Jurgen Klopp has bolstered his Liverpool squad for the coming season with the addition of Estonian defender Ragnar Klavan to the team.

The 30-year-old joins from Bundesliga side Augsburg on a long-term deal for a fee of £4.2m.

"I’m really honoured to be part of this amazing club, this amazing team," he told Liverpool’s official website.

"It’s hard to put it into words, because it’s been a dream of mine for 22 years to come to the Premier League and be a part of this amazing club, Liverpool.

"The Premier League is the most attractive league in the world and you always have amazing players here. This is the home of football."

Klavan becomes Klopp's fourth signing of the season, with Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Loris Karius already having joined the squad.

A defender was bound to be top of the list as the next player signed for Liverpool with the departure of Martin Skrtel to Fenerbache and Kolo Toure released on a free transfer.

Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has also completed a season-long loan deal with Wigan Athletic.
