MLS side seek a 'Chief Tattoo Officer'

Tattoos have become a common part of many footballer's appearances.

In recent years, tattoo sleeves and torso tattoos have become common place in pitches around the world. MLS side Philadelphia Union have taken the unprecedented step of advertising for a 'Chief Tattoo Officer'.

The successful applicant will ensure the Union players, staff and even fans will have their tattoo fix looked after in the city.

"This is a one-of-a-kind, revolutionary position for an artist or shop to become the go-to place for the Union", the job advertisement revealed.

"This is an exciting initiative for all of us here at Philadelphia Union as we look to provide a revolutionary service for our players and front office, particularly those new to the area," Doug Vosik, the team's Vice President of Marketing revealed.

The job specification looks for somebody with at least five-years experience.  The must also have a "diverse skillset as needed by clientele including American Traditional, Realism, Japanese and more".

Last season, Philadelphia were eliminated in the Knockout Round of the MLS Cup Playoffs after finishing in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. They begin their 2017 MLS season away to Vancouver Whitecaps on March 5th.
