Man City accept charge from FA

Man City has accepted a charge of misconduct, for failing to control its players after a penalty was awarded in their clash against Liverpool last weekend.

In their 1-1 draw at the Etihad, Liverpool were awarded a penalty, when Gael Clichy was adjudged to have committed a high challenge on Roberto Firmino. The decision prompted some of the City players to surround referee Michael Oliver in protest.

James Milner later stepped up to convert the spot-kick, which put the Jurgen Klopp's men in front. Sergio Aguero equalised for City to ensure both sides would share the points.

City had until 6pm yesterday to answer the charge, and will learn the full extent of their punishment next week. They were issued a £35,000 fine earlier in the season, as a result of a similar clash against Chelsea.

On that occasion, Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho were sent off in the concluding stages of their 3-1 defeat.
