Man United held by Anderlecht in Europa League first leg

Manchester United have the advantage after securing an away goal in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final tie with Anderlecht.

Jose Mourinho's side were held to a 1-1 draw after conceding late in Belgium.

They took the lead after 36 minutes of action at the Constant Vanden Stock stadium.

Henrik Mkhitaryan was on hand to turn in a shot when Anderlecht goalkeeper Ruben Martinez palmed a Marcus Rashford shot into the Armenian attacking midfielder's path.

Anderlecht would level with four minutes to go after Leander Dendoncker powered a header past Sergio Romero.

The second leg takes place on April 20th at Old Trafford.

In the other Europa League quarter finals, Ajax beat Schalke 04 2-0 and Celta Vigo defeated Genk 3-2.

Meanwhile, Lyon's last eight match with Besiktas was delayed for 45 minutes due to crowd trouble.

Some fans were forced to take shelter on the pitch after objects including firecrackers were thrown at them.
