Manchester City reportedly agree to pay Aymeric Laporte's release clause

Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte could be the first signing of the Pep Guardiola era at Manchester City as reports from Spain suggest the Premier League club have agreed to pay his €50 million release clause.

Laporte is currently out injured having broken his leg playing for France U-21s but Manchester City have held an interest in the 21-year-old for quite some time if reports are to be believed.

The Manchester club will be buoyed by Laporte's most recent post on instagram as he is seen balancing on his injured leg and kicking a football just over a month since his injury.
