Manchester City are hoping to complete the signing of German starlet Leroy Sane in the next two weeks after agreeing personal terms with the 20-year-old.

Sane is expected to sign a four year deal with the club and City will only have to agree a deal with his current club, Schalke 04.

The Bundesliga side are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of £42m (€50m) after Sane scored eight goals and six assists last season.

"Leroy has not told us that he wants to leave Schalke for now," sporting director Christian Heidel told Bild. "If that were to happen, interested clubs could approach us to discuss a move.

"If Leroy wants a transfer, we will make a quick decision on what happens. I want to emphasise it is our decision. It is important that our plans for 2016-17 are not affected by it."

He will become City’s fifth summer signing after Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aaron Mooy all joined the club.
