Manny Pacquiao is interested in a fight with Conor McGregor

Filipino boxing legend Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is interested in a boxing bout with Ireland's Conor McGregor.

As boxing's only eight division world champion, Pacquiao has fought the best over a career which has seen him amass a record of 59-6-2 (38 KOs).

His record includes memorable contests with Erik Morrales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito.

He also jointly holds the record for a boxing PPV event after he fought Floyd Mayweather in 2015, when the pair sold over 4.4 million buys in the United States alone.

Pacquiao is also a senator in his native Philippines, as well as a movie star and business man.

Speaking to Fox Sports at the weekend, he said he would be interested in throwing his hat into the ring when it comes to fighting the biggest star in MMA at the moment, Conor McGregor.

A seemingly growing rivalry between Mayweather and McGregor has begun over the possibility of a big fight that would make the two a lot of money, and Pacquiao stated that he was interested in something similar.

"In boxing [I would] but not in [MMA], just boxing. I’m sure he will be moving around. I didn’t see it [footage of McGregor sparring]. But if we are talking about Conor McGregor and boxing, it’s different. Boxing is different than MMA.”

Pacquiao is currently the WBO welterweight (147 lbs) champion after dethroning Jesse Vargas in his last bout.

Concrete negotiations have yet to come to fruition for Mayweather and McGregor, but a scrap between "Pacman" and "The Notorious" could be an interesting affair, given their willingness to stand and trade.
