Marcus Rashford named in England's provisional Euro 2016 squad

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is the only uncapped player named in Roy Hodgson's provisional Euro 2016 squad.

26 players have been named in the squad ahead of home friendlies with Turkey, Australia and Portugal before the tournament in France begins. Only 23 players will make the final squad.

Rashford only made his Manchester United debut in February, but has impressed in Louis van Gaal's side. The 19-year-old has scored seven goals so far this season and has scored in the Europa League, FA Cup and Premier League.

The teenager joins Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge, Jamie Vardy and captain Wayne Rooney as the strikers named in the squad. Manager Roy Hodgson said that Rashford made the extended squad because "he's had an outstanding end to the season".

Theo Walcott, Jermaine Defore and Phil Jagielka are the three biggest omissions from the squad but there is place in the 26-man list for Jack Wilshere despite his season being badly hampered by injury.
