Mark Wahlberg willing to give Conor McGregor part of his UFC stake
The Dubliner wanted a slice of the UFC pie in terms of shares or a part of ownership16:52 Friday 18 November 2016, 16:52 18 Nov 2016
After Conor McGregor created UFC history by becoming the first concurrent two-weight champion in the promotion's history, he had a post-fight demand.
The Dubliner wanted a slice of the UFC pie in terms of shares or a part of ownership.
"They’ve got to come talk to me now because no one’s came and talked to me since the sale has happened as a businessman. I’ve been approached as, 'hello' and that type of stuff, but I’ve earned something," he said.
"Who owns the company now? People have shares. Celebrities. Conan O’Brien [and others] own the UFC now. Where’s my share? Where’s my equity? If I’m the one that’s bringing this, they’ve got to come talk to me now. I’ve got both belts, family on the way. If you want me to stick around, if you want me to keep doing [this], let’s talk. But I want the ownership now. I want the equal share. I want what I deserve, what I’ve earned."
Among the many celebrity investors in UFC is Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg and he appears to open to selling part of his share to McGregor.
"Absolutely! As a matter of fact, I'll give him a piece of mine because he is the face of the UFC right now. He deserves that. He's a hustler like me, so there's probably a lot of opportunities for us to go out and make money together," he has been quoted as saying by TMZ.
