Martial's agent aims a scathing dig at Wenger

"In football there are those who follow players and those that buy them."

That's the scathing remark from the agent of Manchester United's new in-form striker Anthony Martial in the direction of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

What prompted the comments? Well, Wenger, who had followed the 19-year-old's progress since his youth football days, had insisted that the Frenchman is a winger rather than a striker.

But Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley told French radio station RMC that Wenger was incorrect about Man United's big money arrival.

"I don't agree with [Wenger] because Anthony scored between 25-30 goals a season when he was in Lyon's youth academy and never played as a winger. When he goes wide and then comes central, it's to pick up speed and get away from the centre-backs.

"Anthony is a true modern centre forward. I am surprised by the analysis of Wenger, who has apparently followed him since he was an adolescent."
