Martin O'Neill names a 39 man provisional squad for Euro 2016 play offs

Martin O'Neill has revealed his provisional 39 man squad ahead of Ireland's Euro 2016 play off.

O'Neill's side face Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 13th and 16th with a place next summers Championships in France at stake.

Speaking at today's press conference in FAI HQ, Ireland manager O'Neill said: "After finishing third in a difficult qualifying group, we enter into the Play-Offs against a very good team in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Our fate is in our own hands and we will be doing all that we can to qualify for next summer's finals.

"We will play the second leg at the Aviva Stadium and that is a big plus for us because the Irish supporters were fantastic in our last game there against Germany and we know that there will be a similar atmosphere for this Play-Off."

Stephen Quinn is the main omission from the squad. The Reading midfielder has been ruled out of both games with a knee injury. There is place in the provisional squad for the uncapped trio of Eunan O'Kane, Alan Judge and Adam Rooney.
