The buildup to the men's golf tournament at the Olympic Games as been rocky, to say the least.
Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy, the World's top-four players are all not competing in Brazil, while other players like Shane Lowry, Louis Oosthuizen and Vijay Singh have decided to skip the event.
USA will be represented by Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar. All four have publicly spoken about their delight at competing in Brazil, but Kuchar showed a distinct lack of knowledge about the event, a week before he tees off competing for gold.

The World number 20 was speaking ahead of the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour, where he is competing this week. When asked about the possibility of seeing a team mate win a medal, Kuchar's knowledge of the format became known.
"Is there no team format at all?", Kuchar asked the press in attendance. "The two highest-seeded Americans, their combined score I thought was going to be the team part," he added as the confusion continued. "There is no combination? No team at all?"
Kuchar was only added to the team in recent weeks, and has spoken proudly of competing in the Olympics, but his confusion is more negative publicity the tournament didn't need.
Maybe he is one of those golfers who really does focus on one tournament at a time.
