Tottenham's 2-0 win ended Chelsea's 13-game winning run
Chelsea's 13-match winning-run came to an end on Wednesday night, when Antonio Conte's side lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Goals either side of half-time from Dele Alli were enough to give Mauricio Pochettino's side the crucial win. They're now in third place, seven points behind the leaders.
Despite the importance of beating the league leaders, Pochettino said the result only won the team three points, like any other league match.
"We need to be regular and consistent during the whole season. We’re happy for the victory, but it’s only three points. If we want to fight until the end of the season for big things, for trophies, you need to keep that intensity. That is always the challenge."
Alli was the star for the home side, but despite the heroics of the 20-year-old, Pochettino refused to solely praise the midfielder.
“Dele was clinical in front of goal. It was great. He’s showing big talent and potential. Not only him. We can talk about Harry Kane, many others.”
Tottenham play Aston Villa on Sunday in the FA Cup, knowing they thrived in the festive period, winning four games from four.
