Mayo to meet Kildare in the Football Qualifiers

The Round 3A and 3B draws of the Football Qualifiers have taken place on Monday morning with four intriguing ties pencilled in to take place next weekend.

The tie of the round, sees Kildare travel to Castlebar to meet Mayo. Both teams had wins last weekend, with Mayo overturning a six-point half-time deficit to defeat Fermanagh in McHale Park. Kildare were five-point winners over Leinster rivals Offaly.

Fresh off defeating Monaghan on Saturday, Longford have been given home advantage against Cork. With Pearse Park currently unable to host matches, Longford will be expected to play the game in either Mullingar or Carrick-on-Shannon.

Sligo and Clare will both fancy their chances of reaching Round 4. The Connacht side have home advantage and were the first team to book their place in the final round of Qualifiers after playing 11 days ago against Leitrim. Clare came from behind to defeat Laois to book their place in the draw.

Cavan will meet Derry in an all-Ulster clash in Kingspan Breffni Park next weekend. The teams last met in the Ulster Championship in 2000, but have since met three times in the Qualifers with Cavan winning their most recent tie in 2013.

All four games are scheduled to take place next weekend. The four winners will join the four provincial runners-up in the Round 4 draw.
