Michael Cheika names Fijian rugby league international in Wallabies squad

Australia head coach Michael Cheika has named a 32-man squad for the team's five-match tour of Europe next month.

Three uncapped players have been named in the squad including Marika Koroibete. The 24-year-old Fijian has yet to play a senior game of rugby union. Having grew up as a rugby league player. Koroibete played 13 times for Fiji. He qualifies for Australia through residency, having played in the NRL for Wests Tigers and Melbourne Storm.

Koroibete could become the first player to play for Australia in over ten years, before playing in Super Rugby. Having signed for Melbourne Rebels in May, he wont play for the team until next year.

Western Force fly-half Kyle Godwin and Waratahs hooker Tolu Latu are the only other uncapped players named in the squad.

Cheika's side are looking to complete their second-ever Grand Slam-winning tour. The team beat Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales in 1984. This year they play those four teams, along with a game in the Stade de France against France.

World Cup stars Will Genia, Bernard Foley and Israel Folau are all included in the squad. The lethal back-row duo of David Pocock and Michael Hooper will also give northern hemisphere teams nightmares in the coming weeks.

The game against Ireland will be Australia's fourth test of their gruelling tour. The Aviva Stadium clash takes place on November 27th.
