The judging of his defeat to Russian fighter Vladimir Nikitin elicited controversy
Earlier on Wednesday, the International Boxing Association which governs amateur boxing, made the decision to send home some of the judges presiding over fights at the Rio Olympics.
In a statement today the governing body said: "Following recent judging decisions and after carrying out a thorough examination by the relevant Commission, AIBA has decided to to take immediate and appropriate actions."
However, all fight results will stand.
It follows controversy over the judging of particular fights with the defeat of Ireland's Michael Conlan against Russia's Vladimir Nikitjn gaining particular attention.
"People are questioning Irish boxing but why not question the judging here," the Belfast boxer said after his fight against Nikitin was awarded against him.
Reacting to the news that the AIBA are sending some judges home, Conlan was clearly unimpressed as he responded on Twitter:
Wow this says a lot about AIBA, Sending judges home who ruin dreams, what happens 2 the ppl who's dream were ruined? https://t.co/n5VnWRzLJa— Michael Conlan (@mickconlan11) August 17, 2016
