Michael Hoey and Gary Hurley endure contrasting rounds in battle for European Tour cards

Michael Hoey is still in with a shout of gaining a card for the European Tour for next year.

A round of 69 today, leaves him on 3-under par and just a couple of shots adrift of making the crucial Top 25 at Q-School in Girona.

Hoey is 3-under overall, which means he has climbed 23 places to a tie for 39th.

That puts him about two shots off the Top 25 zone.

Finishing 25th or in a tie for that position will be enough for the Northern Irishman.

Things look to be far more difficult for Gary Hurley, who is level after a round of 72 today.

That meant he achieved par for his round but is on the same score overall for the tournament which leaves him tied for

They play the fifth and final round tomorrow.

Edoardo Molinari leads the way on 14-under overall after an excellent 67.
