Michael Jordan says a "tired" Tiger Woods won't "be great again"

Basketball legend Michael Jordan has revealed that he believes Tiger Woods wants to retire from golf.

The former World number one has not played since last August and missed out on competing at this year's Masters due to a back injury. No time frame has yet been set for his return to the golf course.

Speaking to ESPN, Jordan revealed that he knows his friend is not going to return to his best. Despite not winning any majors since 2008, Woods won five times on the PGA Tour as recent as three years ago.

"I love him so much that I can't tell him, 'You're not gonna be great again.'", the six-time NBA Champion revealed.

Woods turns 41 next December, and has already spent 20-years on the PGA Tour, despite suffering from numerous injuries, including knee and back issues that have plagued the second half of his career.

"I think he's tired", Jordan told ESPN. "I think he really wishes he could retire, but he doesn't know how to do it yet, and I don't think he wants to leave it where it is right now. If he could win a major and walk away, he would, I think."

No date has yet been revealed of when Woods will return to professional action, Reports from America claim he is currently practising on courses near his home but is not near a return to the PGA Tour.
