Middleweight knockout king Gennady Golovkin enters Guinness book of world records

Middleweight champion of the world Gennady "GGG" Golovkin has entered the Guinness book of world records due to his high knockout percentage.

Golovkin, originally from Kazakhstan, has stopped 33 of his 36 opponents in the ring.

He is coming off a stoppage win over England's Kell Brook and hasn't gone the distance in a fight since 2008.

He was presented with his award at the annual WBC prize-giving ceremony at the weekend. He currently holds the WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO versions of the middleweight title. Billy Joe Saunders holds the WBO title which he won off Ireland's Andy Lee in December 2015.

"GGG" as he is also known, is currently regarded as the most feared fighter in the sport at the moment. Talks are ongoing for a super-fight between himself and Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, which most boxing fans are hoping to see in the summer of 2017.

In 2003, Golovkin won the World Amateur Championship beating Andy Lee, Matt Korobov and Lucian Bute on his way to the title.
