Milner-Skudder nears return as Lions series approaches

Nehe Milner-Skudder is due to return from injury and will take part in his club's first pre-season friendly as the Super Rugby tournament nears.

The speedy winger was a pivotal part of the All Black's 2015 World Cup and scored the opening try in the final against Australia.

In total he has played eight times for his country, scoring eight tries.

He recently signed on to stay in New Zealand with the Hurricanes until 2019 and speaking after the announcement he told the New Zealand Herald: "I love it here. It was pretty much a no-brainer. I love the organisation and Manawatu. To hang around in New Zealand and have another opportunity to put on the black jersey is huge."

The Hurricanes are due to play the Auckland Blues in the capital on the 4th February ahead of the new season.

The All Blacks welcome the Lions to New Zealand this summer and open their tour against a provincial selection on 3rd June. They then play all five of New Zealand's Super Rugby franchises as well as the New Zealand Maori and the three test series against the world champions in the space of five weeks.
