Jose Mourinho has denied speculation linking him to the Manchester United job but admitted there are clubs trying to coax him out of the hiatus forced upon him when he was sacked from his post as the manager of Chelsea in December.
Mourinho has been most recently linked with a move to Manchester United as speculation ramps up regarding Louis van Gaal's status at the club following a 2-1 loss to FC Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday night. Reports emerged earlier this month that the Portuguese manager has held talks with United in the hope that a deal could be reached for him to take over the reins from the Dutchman next season.
Mourinho, who worked with Van Gaal at Barcelona and was once considered a student of his, has remained cognizant of the fact that Van Gaal is still the manager of the club and has kept speculation at bay due amidst all the speculation.
When asked about his future club, Mourinho answered, "I really do not know, but one thing is certain - I love football and I will return with the same passion and ambition I've always had,"
"Right now I have respect for every coach at every club. I'm not looking for a club, but there are clubs that are looking for me."
The former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid coach did, however, rule out the possibility of taking over from Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan next season as the pressure increases to grow on the Italian. Mourinho said, "There is one thing I want to clarify – I will not be directing things over there next season. Inter already have a project that belongs to Roberto Mancini and (president) Erick Thohir."
