After under three and a half years at Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers was sacked by the club, hours after his side drew 1-1 with local rivals Everton.
John Giles spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning about the decision and his suspicion on hearing the news was "that they have someone lined up".
The former Ireland manger told Ivan Yates that he expects former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp to get the job at Anfield. "He would certainly be favourite" for the job according to Giles, but will need to have full control of transfers at the club.
Rodgers, along with the current England manager Roy Hodgson are the only two Liverpool managers that have failed to win a trophy since the 1950's.
