Kansas City Chiefs kept their playoff hopes alive with an overtime win over the SuperBowl champion Denver Broncos.

Cairo Santos scored a field goal, off the post, with the final play in overtime to give the Chiefs a 30-27 win in Denver. The win leaves the Chiefs only a win behind the Oakland Raiders at the top of the AFC West. The loss for the Broncos also leaves the team at risk of missing out on the end-of-season playoffs.

Oakland won their fifth win in a row, with a 35-32 win at home to the Carolina Panthers. Last year's NFC Champions, still remain on course to finish bottom of the NFC South after the loss.

The Raiders led by 17 points at half-time, but somehow trailed going into the final quarter, and eight points down with 13 minutes left. A Sebastian Janikowski field goal in the final two minutes earned a dramatic win for the Raiders.

In the AFC East, the New England Patriots, continued their run of winning seasons since 2001. The Patriots defeated the New York Jets 22-17 to move to 9-2 for the season, guaranteeing another winning season in Boston.

The New York Giants look set to join NFC East rivals Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs. The Giants defeated the 0-12 Cleveland Browns, 27-13 to move to 8-3.
