New York Giants confirm playoff credentials after Bengals win

New York Giants won their fourth game in a row, on Monday night, after a 21-20 win over Cincinnati Bengals at home.

The Giants, scored a touchdown in three of the four quarters, with quarterback Eli Manning throwing touchdown passes to Jerell Adams, Odell Beckham and Sterling Shepard on the way to the Giants moving to 6-3 for the season.

Over the space of the game, the lead switched five times, with the Giants opening and closing the scoring in Metlife Stadium. Shepard's three-yard catch, inside the final three minutes proved to be the defining moment of the game.

Ben McAdoo's side are on course to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2011, when they last won the SuperBowl. Currently at 6-3, the Giants look set to earn a Wildcard place in the NFC.

For the Bengals, the loss is their second game in a row without a win, after their tie with Washington in Wembley last month. The Bengals are now 3-5-1 for the season, and look set to miss the playoffs.

Next week, the Bengals welcome Buffalo to Cincinnati, while the Giants are at home to Chicago. Both games take place on Wednesday.
