Newstalk's Oisin Langan wins the award for Best Radio Coverage at the OCS Irish Paralympic Awards

The awards ceremony took place in Dublin on Friday night

Newstalk sports broadcaster Oisin Langan has won the award for Best Paralympic Games Radio Coverage at the OCS Irish Paralympic Awards.

The Waterford native was presented with the award at a special ceremony in Dublin on Friday night.

The 2016 Paralympic Games ran from September 7th to 18th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ireland enjoyed a successful Games with a total off 11 medals. Four of those were gold as well as four silvers and three bronzes for a strong Top 30 place in the overall medals table.

The awards recognise the achievements of athletes in categories including Outstanding Male and Female Performances and Outstanding Games Debut Performance.

There are also awards for best TV, Radio, and online coverage during the Games.
